The police man was their to help you and protect you from the criminals thus the term
protect and serve. Well, I grew up and I know that's pretty simplistic,
but a police man, police woman's, employing police department is judged by the public as only as
good as the lowest common denominator (police officer) which is the worst police
man , police woman, police officer.

The more companies
that come into the WNY area that have to
answer to their share holders and make an honest profit and actually pay
their taxes that they legally are required to pay, even if they have
received incentives of reduced property taxes or other taxes, the better off
we all are.
Today on the news we all learned that the Mayor of Buffalo son took
out the family car without telling anyone and wrecked into a couple of
parked cars and the son of County Executive Joel Giambra at 17 yrs old was
arrested convicted and sentenced to treatment and therapy and probation for
DUI in North Tonawanda NY (I have heard recent stories that in N Tonawanda,
the police harass designated drivers in cars they pull over using the stupid
line your eyes pupils are dilated ( no shit it's dark out side!) and
generally harass young drivers to the point that if you live in that
neighborhood forget getting friends to drive for you designated or not your
on your own to navigate the streets drunk because your buddies don't want
the hassle of driving your butt around. The un-ethical treatment of
designated drivers actually lead to more drunk drivers' being on the road.
The same thing happens in jurisdictions that harass people walking
home from bars at night and charge these people with public intoxication or
pat them down for weed when they aren't disturbing the peace or anything
else. You want people to leave the car at home or at the parking lot at the
bars and to do anything that would make people say f- it! I will drive
drunk, is stupid on the part of cops.
I will give Cheektowaga NY
police an A plus when it comes to letting drunks walk home and even giving them
lifts at night. I have heard stories of this happening lots of times over
the years.
I think a lot of problems with youth, especially the poor and black
youth stem from unethical treatment and the police sending mixed messages.
If youth learns there is no benefit to being truthful and law abiding and
what ever you do its just going to be a crap shoot when it comes to dealings
with the police and life, then it becomes every ones problem when these kids
get older.
Realistically I really don't think it is possible for any kid growing
up in Erie county NY or WNY to reach the age of 21 without being arrested
for something with the shrinking populace and the fact that police forces
just seem to be growing with no regard to the population loss in this area,
it is a fore gone conclusion.
If you want your kids to grow up with no criminal record move out of
this area into a large metro area where your child can speed or drink and
drive 3000 times before getting caught, if ever. You know, you hear stories
of former gang bangers, crooks and former drug addicts getting jobs with
police all the time in large metro areas, in fact 2/3rds of the population
of Washington DC is on probation or incarcerated at any given time and gangs
run wild in almost all major cities except NYC. Why should that
concern you. Well, if the police have all that to attend to, your halfway
descent kid should be home free to grow up without a criminal record if you
live in one of those areas.
It is being reported that neither family Mayor Byron Browns or County
Executive Joel Giambra got preferential treatment by the police or courts
for their kids, while I don't really think that is true for the Buffalo
Mayors kid( come on if that kid wasn't the Mayors son he would have been
arrested for felony hit and run, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, false
police report and the mayor and his wife would have been charged as
accessories after the fact). I formed the opinion that the mayors son did
this, the same day after when his father was saying, his son was up in his
bead room, during the incident and he did not see him leave or enter that
night. (Personally I can't blame anyone for wanting to protect their kid and
if you have read this site I believe those in government should be allowed a
little consideration by the police and courts as long as they aren't turning
a blind eye to the infractions completely.) I don't really know how much
consideration Giambra would have gotten from the police because he
tried to cut out Sheriffs patrols last year, but all this did come out hush
, hush after the fact like. |

FYI State Supreme Court Justice Amy Jo Fricano's was arrest for driving while ability impaired on hydro codone aka: Oxycodine the same pills Rush Limbal was abusing( In NY the highest court is the appeals court, not the NY supreme court, it's confusing if your from any other state or have never been in a NY court) . Hold on to your seats I am going to defend this Judge. I'm not saying that she shouldn't have of been arrested, the cops covering it up and not arresting her would be a problem and the Niagara county Sheriffs office did the right thing, but the thing about being impaired is you often aren't making your best judgments while you are impaired. I can understand how someone who is in pain can take a medication for the first time or on an empty stomach or when they are tired and find them selves behind the wheel not being able to control the car. When you find yourself in this situation you should stop and pull over and call for a ride and anyone who is drunk or on pills and does this should be allowed to go their merry way none the worst for wear because they are being responsible. We all know this would not be the case though if the police see you parking the car then stumbling around, it's a different story. This Judge might of been pulling over to do just that when she hit the pole in the City of Lockport and then said to herself: Who would believe me? Then after calling to report the incident decided to leave where she then got pulled over by the police. This is why Zero tolerance doesn't really make sense, but then again if this Judge practices Zero tolerance she should get zero tolerance, but if she is a fair judge and this was the case mercy is called for and a little drug addiction education is called for also. Also since I am in pain almost all of the time myself and at one time everyday I woke up I felt like I'd rather be dead than in pain. I can see where people get desperate and maybe addicted, you get depressed and if you don't get Prozac or lexapro or something and a doctor prescribes a pain killer that dulls the senses along with the depressed feeling some people might get hooked like Rush Limbal. Me myself after the first time I took a heavy hitter like that. I couldn't stand the feeling of dullness and being in a fog. It was like being a 14 yrs old kid stoned on pot. I wouldn't take the drug and asked my doctor for something that didn't make me feel stoned. It's a weaker drug Tramadol, but It doesn't dull the senses or make you feel stoned or impair your function, that with something for the depression caused by pain all the time and finally the propranolol to control the affects of the overproduction of adrenaline from the pain and panic attacks has on your heart, blood pressure and arthritis I feel almost normal. The main thing is I am not impaired or in a fog or hooked on a heavy drug. I hate that! I like to be in control of my faculties. I remember back even 25 yrs ago when I drank. I didn't drink to get a buzz. It was a stupid macho thing, like a drinking game, who ever drank the most that night and was the last to pass out won, it was a weekly contest between me and my buddies, I didn't even like to drink. I guess that's why studies have show there's no higher incidence of alcoholism associated with young adult collage age binge drinkers than people who didn't binge drink or drink at all at that age. So in all reality taking a tough stance on youth drinking not associated with driving, only serves to enrich the coffers of courts and alcohol treatment centers and serves to criminalize our youth, the criminal record will stay their long after your youthful fondness of binge drinking has passed. You know I'm thinking to myself where do I know this Judges name from. This is 20 hrs after I wrote first about this judge. Then It came to me. I have heard story, after story of this Judge. In my Opinion I recollect it goes like this. If your a male you don't want to end up in her court, she will castrate you, deeming you, not listen to your side of the story and throw you butt in jail and put you on probation forever, if it's a divorce proceeding your really screwed. No mercy for any man that goes thru her court, when Rush Limbal coined the term Femi Nazi he might have been thinking of this Judge, seems ironic they have both done Oxycodine. You know your a hanging Judge when people the next county over talk about you. Amazingly I knew 4 men that have felt her wrath in court, all where in sales( actually one guy was up in front of her for running an escort service, the other was a divorce in front of her and the others I cant remember the situation so take what they said for what it's worth), some people might even like a judge to be a tough on crime judge. Me personally If I hear of someone getting sentenced to 3 yrs in jail for shoplifting their first offence at the Galleria mall in a Cheektowaga court. I tend to think that judge is off their rocker or a racist if its a black person from buffalo, or is on a power trip, you know down state involuntary vehicular manslaughter will get you 1-3 yrs in jail, so use that for a comparison. If you Have ever read this website be fore you would know 2 things. There is , in my opinion no Justice in Justice courts and I don't like the way the Orchard Park police department has done business in the past. Now I will add the Orchard park Justice court and the way they do business. If I hear something bad about the OP government it will be a hatrick. Everyone knows when you show up in court on the date and time the ticket says you have to be in court and the (cop) in this case, the trooper that wrote the ticket was not in court and supposedly the court was not in session, but for some reason the court clerk was there at 7pm at night. (Logically if court was not suppose to be in session at that time, the clerk would not have been there, and the clerks office would have been closed at 4:30 pm like most government offices) Also the person ahead of you was complaining that they drove 60 miles because the ticket commands you to appear at 7pm on October 31,2006. This man most likely had kids, as this woman has, and had other things planned for Halloween, but because of the fear of not showing up and having a warrant issued for arrest these people like this woman showed up as they should have. If the cop, the Judge , or the prosecutor does not show up, you get a walk, a dismissal, a freebee, or at least a ACD, but not in Orchard Park. There you get a: We don't do it like that. We send you your court date in the mail. If that is so? Why do the tickets state you must show up in court for trail on such and such date or send in your plea of guilty or not guilty? If that's not the way it is done, why dose the ticket say that's the way it is? I figure it's greed on the Justice courts part along with negligence, dereliction of duty by the clerk and the court and most likely a violation of speedy trail laws by them. At least it is a total disregard for peoples time, money, family time, and unneeded stress caused by a system that wants your money, accuses you of breaking the rules, but has total disregard for their obligation and the rules set out for them by the state and previous precedence by other courts. People, not only me expect integrity from the courts, the police and government. We don't expect perfection, but we do expect the people judging us in the court room to be fair, to be there, or if not there, a dismissal of the ticket. We don't want some lame excuse to get at your wallet, take more of your time on a future date, and leave you in limbo for another 3 months! I am going to say that the incident I am talking about above was settled with a parking ticket, but not before that person showed up on the second date she was told too and was told to come back another day. While I am told the Judge, a female was fair to most and stern to the younger people that came in even making a girl write an essay on what she did wrong. I am all for second chances or alternative sentencing for youth as long as they are made to learn from their mistakes. I think community service along with probation and consoling leading up to a ACD is fair and preferred for first time offenders especially those in collage and it goes double for those in the US armed services. In my Opinion taxes aren't threw the roof in WNY because IDA's are giving tax breaks to multi-million dollar or billion dollar companies to retain jobs or create jobs. It's also not because of untaxed sales on the Indian reservations. I am amazed at all the outrage against the Niagara County IDA that wanted to give such a break to such a company yesterday. They had a public meeting. It's when these IDA's give tax breaks to doctors offices, dentist, pizzerias, restaurants, and hotels that have no choice but to be located where or near where they are located already, because that where their customers are that a crime may have been committed, or at least some kind of political patronage, or un-ethical behavior has been committed. This is one of the main causes of higher taxes along with corrupt governments in WNY. In all reality the only way to stop government corruption besides not electing the people that have been elected in the past, is to encourage multi-national and billion dollar companies to build in this area WNY. Look at Niagara Falls Canada's prosperity, also look at Las Vegas Nevada, both cities with about the same population or less as WNY. It also relegates the criminal enterprise element from being the big fish in a small pond to being a small fish in a big corporate pond. The best example of this being Las Vegas. If you think that most restaurants or even businesses in WNY pay all there taxes, just answer this question. Why don't any restaurants still have smoking sections in them? It's because when the state passed the smoking ban, they made an exception for restaurants and bars that could show a decline in business because the smoking ban reduced their patronage and caused them significant declines in business. Because this is a fact, almost all bars and restaurants in WNY should have received the waver. But because so many of them under-report there earnings to cheat the state of NY and Local governments and lastly the people that live in this area out of sales tax revenue they collect by misreporting their earnings. The only places that where granted a waver where the state run OTB's even though the privately run bars in the OTB's where not granted the same waivers. The OTB's where the only businesses in WNY that could prove a decline in business, because naturally being a state entity they don't cheat on their state taxes and could prove a decline in business.

The Bad... Studies have shown that the leading cause of death in work zones in the length of the lane closures. The longer the lane closer the higher the probability of death of workers or vehicle occupants. It's not the speed of traffic in the zone. Pennsylvania for the longest time had the highest fatality rate of any state when it came to work zone accidents and deaths. When information was gathered as to why, they found that they not only had extremely long lane closures, they used concrete barriers on both sides of the open lanes so when a truck would approach stopped traffic or slowed traffic and misjudged they would plow into the back of the line because there was no way to turn out of the way. So they implemented 2 changes. They no longer funnel traffic thru sets of concrete barriers and they no longer have work zones longer than a couple of hundred yards. Needless to say they are no longer the state with the highest work zone fatality or accident rates, they aren't even close. This leads me to ask why route 219 had lane closures in place for over ten miles in length for over 4 months in a row and 95% of the time no one out their working. Most know that road was in the best shape of any road in western NY and probably didn't need to be repaved for another ten years. In fact I suspect the newly resurfaced 219 surface life expectancy is less than half of what it would have been if they left it alone. They could have used the new asphalt to pave 2 lanes to PA instead of lining the pockets who ever has the contract for the job. This leads me to ask what kind of kick back a cherry job like this commands 50%? This is besides the point. It is negligent and highly unethical when local, state and federal governments and the police let companies working on roadways jeopardize the life's of the driving public by allowing killing zones like these to be in place so they can generate double ticket revenue in the courts. They know work zones should only be a couple hundred yards long at most. The construction company should do the work. Finish the work. Then move on and make a new work zone. This way everyone is safe. The only problem with safe work zones is it means driver's obey the law more often than not. They don't get frustrated by having to drive 45 MPH in a usually 65 MPH zone for what seams like an eternity, but actually is around 10-15 miles when their is nobody working on the road, or when there are people working on the road. A scams a scam and the public knows what is what. I once drove to Las Vegas and lived their a 1 year and drove back to Buffalo. I had to go thru Denver and their inner and outer interstate loop, it had work zones signs all the way around the city. I saw about 50 cars pulled over by the police while on the system. When I stopped for gas, I asked what gives? They said the work had finish almost a year ago but they never took the signs down, so the cops are out their screwing the public. When I came back threw almost 1 years latter moving back to WNY the signs where still up and the cops where still out ticketing people almost 2 years after the road work was over. The only thing I can say about this abhorrent behavior is at least they weren't jeopardizing peoples lives with fake lane closures. Nobody would believe the long lane closures where justified in Denver as in WNY RT 219 nobody believes the extremely long lane closures on RT219 are or where justified or needed in WNY, even if pigs could fly and we all believed the road needed repaving right now! After 4 months on the run 08/31/2006 he ambushed and shot 2 NYS state troopers, trooper Joseph Longobardo Died of his Injuries GRHS on 9/3/2006 and was buried on 9/11/2006. I am pleased to say Bucky was captured by the NYS Troopers, Pennsylvania State and federal and local police on 09/08/2006 at 8 PM.

The Ugly! What is with the arbitrator that ruled for the Buffalo Teachers federation? Why, when the school board can save millions of dollars as other governments in WNY are doing for their constituents by going with one Health Insurance provider that provides substantially the same coverage as their competing companies, but offered a discount because of a higher volume of business they would receive because all governments in Erie county are going with there health care program would an arbitrator rule against the school board. Hasn't he been watching what has been going on in WNY the last couple of years. What the arbitrator has essentially ruled is the teachers deserve a choice between prime rib and lobster and shouldn't be forced to eat only prime rib. Here is some common sense thinking. When checking out a noise complaint make sure your window is down part way, so you can determine the origin of the noise. A 16 second response time by Police is awesome, and a second drive by was great, in fact the first response was so fast I missed it and didn't see it on video until the next day. I had to get out of bed and ask the partiers to calm down myself at 4AM Monday morning. I got mooned for my trouble see video I was on the public sidewalk and they had door wide open and I made sure they saw the camera and they where loud and disruptive so they had no reasonable expectation to privacy, all they had to do is shut the door but instead I got a show.
