If you've ever read this site, you'll know I really don't believe racism such as the hate, hate type really still exist except for a few lost souls, but you tell me. Am I wrong? This was a conversation I over heard between a police officer and a black woman. One reason I'm having a hard time figuring if the remarks where racist is that the cop was very calm and somewhat polite to this black woman. (But I learned a long time ago From a salesman named OTTO' Bambvosie, that if you smile while you say something, you can say anything you want and get away with it, no matter how forced or faked the smile is). But I could deduce from his inflection the real meaning...( I also have seen people, including me, be accused of racism, by blacks, Mexicans, even Cubans unwarranted in my book just because that is some peoples thinking, the victimization thinking.( I remember one time I gave everyone of my carpet cleaning techs a 1k Christmas bonus. I eventually found out that one of my part timers Kevin a black guy was slacking and not answering my calls because he thought someone else got a bigger bonus( he was a part timer because his van was down and I had to use him as a helper on commercial jobs only, and I would find crack cocaine in the recovery tank of his machine so I couldn't trust him in homes). He was even saying it was racially motivated. He was a part timer and I gave him the same as the full timers and I even paid for his groceries for his Christmas dinner because he helped me out the day before Christmas eve. It turns out he was comparing what a full timer said he got. The only problem was that guy had a couple grand in commissions' in his check also. So for my generosity in giving Christmas gifts to all my employees and independent contractors, I'm accuse of being a racist. Beat that! So I try to be the last person to say some one is racist...

In my Opinion this is what I heard and I have read my opinion into what is being said by the cop!

Cop: You can't drink beer out here. Black woman: I'm sorry I didn't know I'll dump it right out. Cop: That's not the way we do things here.( I'm thinking to myself, he means as opposed to a place that welcomes blacks and minorities, we don't welcome them here?). Cop: This is a public side walk, not your porch.( I'm thinking he means, you porch monkeys don't belong on our side walks or in public) Black Lady: I'm sorry. Cop: You could stand on those steps and it would be like being on a porch in Buffalo, those steps would be ok.( I'm thinking, he's inferring go back to Buffalo, there is no room on those steps or in this municipality for you and other blacks). Cop: to white guy sitting in front of my window under roof overhang: What about you? I saw you put that beer behind you: White Man: No answer. Cop: You can sit around the corner on the side of the building drinking, but you can't drink out here. Cop: Come with me I'm going to give you an appearance ticket. White Man and Black woman: OK! and they are all gone. Me, I look at the clock it's 9:30AM. I go back to sleep.

What do you think? Was this cop racist? Or just foolish throwing around the porch word for no reason? You want to know what I think. I think he's foolish because it doesn't matter if he's a racist or not. He should be checking it at the locker when he punches into work and keep any personal prejudice locked away until he gets home at night where he is free to voice his feelings anyway he wants too! Not creating civil liability ( possible civil liberties lawsuit's that would be paid by tax payers) for the community he is sworn to protect. He should have used the word property instead of porch, but then the meaning of his words would have changed, wouldn't they have? Instead of meaning watch it n-word, blacks not welcome, go back where you came from. It would have meant, please be careful ma'm and make sure you don't have an open container off your property and in public, so I won't be forced to give you a ticket or warning.

It took me 2 weeks to decide to write this. If I wasn't having panic attacks and I didn't need the stress of sticking up for people that have it coming to them anyways, but my obsession with fairness and integrity finally won out. I would have wrote this the day it happened.

Mostly because in my opinion this black woman is loud, louder, loudest, (nice lady though when not partying) and ever since this white guy moved in he's been louder loud and louder, and whenever any of them score drugs or beer they party like it's 1982! The last time I'm guessing they both scored meth because both had their music blaring at 2am in the morning for 48 hours straight and I was sick those days and in bed and didn't feel like dealing with it..

It's like this: 2 loud and obnoxious people who are a pain in my side or a cop that may be right in giving the woman a ticket, even though I don't think the man should have gotten one, but a court can decide if sitting under a roof overhang constitutes private property and not public open container.

A cop quite frankly doing me and all of us a favor and ticketing a couple of loud, louder and loudest people, at least one drinking in public.

The problem I have is. You don't treat people racially demeaning them no matter how subtle the implications are, black, white or Native American, or Mexican,(radical Muslims its a different story) if your in this country legally and are entitled to services such as police and fire, you are entitled to receive theses services free of bigotry, prejudice, hate, or demeaning implications from our civil servants.

If I didn't write about it. I would lack integrity. I think that cop he owes that black lady an apology!
