Promoting integrity and fairness in police departments when it comes to cops, police and police departments dealing with the general public. Non-criminals. Lets be honest folks when I grew up I was told the police man is my friend. The police man was their to help you and protect you from the criminals thus the term protect and serve. Well, I grew up and I know that's pretty simplistic, but a cop, police officer's  employing  police department is judged by the public as only as good as the lowest common denominator (police officer) which is the worst police officer, cop.

I think a lot of problems with youth, especially the poor and black youth stem from unethical treatment and the police sending mixed messages. If youth learns there is no benefit to being truthful and law abiding and what ever you do its just going to be a crap shoot when it comes to dealings with the police and life, then it becomes every ones problem when these kids get older. Cops who have integrity and practice  fairness in dealings with youth send the right message to our youth, the message Illegal Guns are for cowards, drug abuse and drug dealing are not acceptable and not a good lifestyle choice and just a waste of time.

After 20 yrs in sales, the author of this web-site is a walking encyclopedia of first & second hand knowledge good and bad.

The Good...

Here's a Toy (tool) for every cop to ask for. A defibrillator!

 Seattle WA is the safest place in the nation to have a Heart attack. The police and EMS there said there is a lot of people dieing because it takes the EMS and fire department longer that the 6 minutes window we think we know is needed to restart a heart or restore rhythm to a heart before a person dies( it's actually 2 minutes when it's sudden cardiac arrest which 340,000 people die of each year), so our new toy (tool) is going to be a deliberator in every police car, ambulance and fire truck. The new AED defibrillators can pretty much determine if a shock is needed and instructs anyone using it to push the button to administer a life saving charge.  It's really not that far fetched anyways cops almost always respond to medical emergencies and arrive first on scene. NYC is about the only place this doesn't happen. So instead of that jet ski or 4 wheeler or k-9 unit, that's just a duplication of service of the county or state police, buy some AED defibrillators instead  the life it saves may even be your own.

I think every single police car no matter what the jurisdiction  should be equipped with a  AED defibrillator and if you thought about it, you would want one in your car not only for the public, but for your own safety.

Also, it is my belief that all police departments should have 24/7 video front view, rear view, and in police car front, and police car back seat with GPS recording with audio, and video not controlled by the police officer in the car. Neither should ever be shut off , and the memory unit should not be accessible to that officer either. They should be able to make copies from it, but never delete the original, this would protect police officer, police department, the public, and also last and least the criminals rights.

 The Association of Trial Lawyers of America estimates that federal officials have documented 5,306 deaths during police pursuits in the last 16 years

 I mean I guess it turns out the police don't need all theses tools (toys), because if any particular cop finds himself with out one of these toys( tools), he will use his cop car as a substitute. Dam how many people get killed in the process. I mean chasing a motorcycle with a cop car makes about as much sense as chasing a snowmobile with a cop car. You wanted the tools. You have the tools. Use them for something besides ruining peoples fun and use your car responsibly.

 Use your tools as they should be used. Stop using your cop car as a universal chase vehicle (aka: random death machine). I hate to break it to you Bruce Willis is an actor! Don't try to cop his mojo and moves off screen, that he does on screen. Don't be a cowboy. Yippee kye aye!

In my opinion It's unethical for police to endanger the lives of the public chasing a vehicle that was not involved in a violent crime, or previous accident, hit and run fatality. Also your life shouldn't depend on the carp shot of where you are located or what agency is involved. The Maryland State police won't even ticket cars on the beltway during rush hour because rubber neckers cause accidents sometimes involving the car pulled over.

20 Miles to the east Baltimore police have a no pursuit policy. It's a given that motorcycles offer almost no mortal danger to other motorist and the only one likely to die from a motorcycle are the people on the motorcycle. So if the people on the motorcycle are not packing automatic weapons that are being shot at innocent bystanders chasing a motorcycle is never appropriate action on the part of police. Unless they are on motorcycles only, then maybe, or in the air in a helicopter or plane. Its was a gross negligent act by the police ending in the random death of 2 good people.

I mean what the heck? First it was we don't have 4by 4s, trucks to go after people off roading in there 4by4's, so all police departments got 4by4 trucks. Then it was we can't stop the kids on dirt bikes? So all the departments got enduros (on and off road motor cycles) to control the dirt bikes. It use to be that if you went out snowmobiling  you would never see a cop out there ever, the police saw this and demanded snowmobile's because people where to free to have fun.

The last time I looked at the US constitution the Coast Guard has sole jurisdiction over all waterways in the USA, but some how every village, town, and public works police department has a police boat and jet ski's now. Police actively try to kill the fun people have on the water ways. Then there is the k-9 units, tactical units (tanks, auto weapons, armor vehicles) ,underwater units, cops on mountain bikes (I think it's a bad example if the cops on bicycles don't wear helmets as an example for kids to follow). Then there's the ORV 3&4 wheelers, Helicopter units, police planes and yes police  jets.  Of course police have been using motor cycles for a long time now. I  almost forgot the mounted units (horses). Also the rescue units. Lets not forget the segways some departments now also have. The French police use blimps and the English have a couple million cameras used for surveillance and lets not forget officer Shaq of the NBA get's to use the internet.

My question is with all this?  Why do cops feel the need to use the cop car as a universal chase vehicle (aka: random death machine).  I'll bet you more people die from police cars then police guns and 99% of those people had nothing to do with the crime.

I acknowledge the need for the state police and county wide police services, either metro police departments or sheriffs departments need for the latest tools, which smaller police departments can all call on when needed, but not every department needs everything out there unless you can get it threw the federal government at close to no cost and its 100% necessary to public safety 100% of the time, its not worth the extra tax burden especially a small village or town!

 FYI-My personal opinion on current events.
